Storm King's member clubhouse is open for business and available to rent for special events. The members enjoy several amenities offered in the 6,000-square foot facility, and the building sits on the top of a hill to enjoy a full view of the greens and a stunning panorama of Black Rock Forest from the grill room, dining room, and bar.

Inside the main floor of the clubhouse, thick oak columns and a beautiful polished oak bar add a distinguished atmosphere to the bar and grill. Next door in the formal dining room, full-service meals are served on linen-covered tables, each offering a view outside. The kitchen, with its walk-in refrigerator and freezer, would be the envy of any restaurateur. On the lower level of the building, a conference room is also available to be rented by members or guests wanting to hold a special event of any kind.

Chef's Corner

Born and raised in Monticello, New York, Scott Strauss began his culinary journey in the kitchens of the legendary Catskill Mountains Borscht Belt with stints in the Raleigh Hotel, Browns, and the famed Concord Hotel. Upon graduation from high school, Chef Strauss attended the prestigious Culinary Institute of America where he graduated with distinction. From there it was on to New York City where the next fifteen years were spent honing his skills at various landmark restaurants and hotels. The list includes famous venues such as 21 Club, Tavern on the Green, Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers, the Grand Hyatt and Park Avenue s Regency Hotel.

Next, Mr. Strauss' career path took him to Westchester County where he spent time as executive chef and executive sous chef at Doral Arrowwood as well as the historic Tarrytown House Executive Conference Center. Prior to his arrival in the Hudson Valley, Chef Scott served as executive chef at the Water s Edge on Manhattan's East River and was the opening chef at Tosca Marquee in Throggs Neck, New York. Mr. Strauss' experience in the Hudson Valley includes stints at The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel and Savona's Trattoria on Kingston s historic waterfront.

Mr. Strauss looks forward to bringing wholesome, fresh, and locally-sourced cuisine to Storm King Golf Club, to include expertly prepared classics in addition to modern american cuisine and comfort foods with a concentration on member and client satisfaction. Chef Scott resides in Lagrange, New York with his wife Donna, son Ryan, daughter Michelle, four dogs, two cats, and an acerbic parrot, Jack.
